When Love Comes at a High Price

A very snowy walkway PLUS

A metal broom that becomes defective EQUALS

A nasty, gashed open finger, which consequently EQUALS

Using our gauze pads that we got as part of a wedding shower gift for the first time, which, in the end, CONVERTS TO

A trip to the Emergency Room PLUS 10 stitches.

In the end what this story really EQUALS is love, though. Jared knew that I would be going out later with the girls, and he did not want us to have to trudge through the deep snow. So at 6 a.m., he tried to sweep out a walkway for us. I don't know whether I should feel guilty that I could be partly blamed for the injury, or whether I should just be so grateful for the amazing love that Jared has for me and his little girls. I think I will go with the latter; it makes me feel loved and it reminds me of whom one of my greatest heroes is!!!

  1. Oh my, that looks so painful! I am terrified of needles. Fortunately Jared is a doctor, they seem to be less fearful of pain? Wishing you a speedy recovery!
