One of Those Days

Some days are just supposed to be stressful and trying. The day of our ward party was one of those days for me!

I made some 'magic cookie bars' for it. They turned out really good and they looked really fun, since I let the girls dye the coconut for it green and red to sprinkle over the top. That is, it looked great until they ended up like shown above, face down on the floor mixed with shattered "Pyrex" glassware throughout.

I dropped it when I was showing the girls how nice they looked. So, after having the catastrophe happen, I had to wipe off the girls feet and exile them from the kitchen! Then, I had to make a second batch of the magic bars, so that we wouldn't have to show up empty handed. After hurrying to get the second batch in, and telling the girls repeatedly to stay away, I had to finish cleaning up the first spoiled batch.

Just as Jared came in the door, he heard me scream out, followed by me ordering him to hurry and get me a towel! He came into the kitchen to find me bleeding into the sink, since I got cut while trying to clean up the mess. Luckily, it bled a lot, but wasn't a bad cut.

We finally made it to the party; we were late, but we were there. At that point, even being there was a major victory;-)
