We have been crunching through this fall, staying busy between the kids' school and activities and Jared's work and job searching 'activities.' A few of the highlights not to be forgotten must be documented, I might add with poor photo quality, since better pictures will only be within our reach after Christmas;o) ;o) Let's just say a new camera is at the top of Jared's and my Christmas list this year.
Not to be forgotten item #2: Thanks to the miracle of modern technology, Alexia has been doing preschool with her cousins that live across the country from her on Fridays. So COOL!!! They always share something for show and tell. The time above was super special, because we got to meet Keira's toy dog that she so belovingly named Jared. Offended? No way!!! Jared was super thrilled to have his niece's dog named after him.
Not to be forgotten item #3: Emmy started eating baby food. The verdict was obviously undecided the 1st night (see pic below), but now she is a messy little pro!
Not to be forgotten item #4: Do you want to look hot? or do you want to look like a crazy, cute clown? FYI, Hot = wear real lipstick; Crazy, Cute Clown = marker will do the trick just fine! Watch out, though; either can leave a mark, just ask Lexi.
Not to be forgotten item #5: Kids are absolutely HILARIOUS! So, I saw these 2 notes on our computer, and asked Addie what in the world they were all about. She told me that she wrote them when Lexi was on the computer. When she was not performing up to Addie's expectations (doing exactly what Addie wanted), she wrote the above note. She then would tell her to read the note, "sound it out," and would help her to do so! When she started being better (letting Addie get her way), she wrote the note below. What makes this perfectly funny is when you take the misspellings into account with the message above. The whole 'best of friends, worst of enemies' fully describes their relationship.
Not to be forgotten item #6: Apparently, in our genes, dimples and WaCkY hair are inseparably linked together. Emmy is following in Lexi's footsteps in both areas.
Not to be forgotten item #7: In heaven, I am going to petition...ha ha...for all of us to be granted the sleeping abilities of a baby, resting totally comfortably even in the most uncomfortable positions.
Not to be forgotten item #8: It takes Jed ~ 2 hours to look this happy around dogs that are as tall as he is. We celebrated Thanksgiving with the awesome Schudas, and their dog terrified Jed to the point of him crying and flipping out in a super frightened way every time the dog came within a couple feet of him. After the fabulous feast, Matt worked with him letting him give the dog doggie treats in order to help him overcome his fear, which worked for a few minutes.
and item #9: Taped glasses are all the rage. Lexi knew how to sport them in style, but fortunately only had to for a couple of days, due to Jared's awesome parents:o) Thanks Petersons!!!
Not to be forgotten item #10: We are going to sincerely miss all of our wonderful New Jersey friends, who really have been our adopted families!
Not to be forgotten item #11: If they make a sequel to one of the best Christmas movies of all time, then Jed may be able to be casted as Ralphie! All he needs is glasses; thanks, Addie, for donating yours for a couple of minutes for the cause!!!
Not to be forgotten item #11.5: See; he could totally pull off even the best parts.
We hope the holidays will treat all of you and your families well! Soon after the holidays, we will probably be able to post where the next phase will take us...
