Of course, we had to take my parents into the City of Brotherly Love while they were out.

So, we met up with Jared to show my parents his downtown place of work. Yes, I still am a poser sometimes!
We hit the Terminal Market, where they enjoyed finding some sweet delicacies.

Next, we let them go on the tour of Independence Hall.

It was my Mom's favorite place of the day.

Another must do: Seeing the Liberty Bell!

This time we ventured out and saw the Betsy Ross House. The girls enjoyed running around in the courtyard. Why is it so fun for kids to run in circles anyway? If you have a good answer, please do post about it and enlighten me!

We got to see Benjamin Franklin's grave, and we got to see...

a big, fat statue of his head. You know you are famous, when people want to take pictures by a big, fat statue of your head!!! It is definitely something to aspire to;-)

Last, but not least, how many Barbs does it take to hug a tree? Depends on the tree! Being a 'tree hugger' turned out to be trickier than I thought!
As for the kids running in circles, I have learned they love it for a couple of reasons. 1) there is no end (they don't reach the end of the hallway and have to stop to turn around) 2) my kids like it because then they can run around without getting in trouble for running away 3) it provides a nice challenge (according to my 5 year old) because you have to "run and turn"
