Adelaide is 6!!! We celebrated the weekend leading up to it and the day of it, since Jared had a long overdue, extended weekend off for it. Yay!!!
On Saturday, we took Adelaide to the Pop Shop, a kid centered restaurant, for breakfast. The girls got theirs for free since they were dressed in their pjs on the Saturday morning. It was good eats and a fun atmosphere. Everyone got a baker's hat that we wore proudly after the girls had finished coloring them, turning them into masterpieces.
That day we also got lucky, because a book festival was going on in that same neighborhood. So, we walked around, bought some great pens, looked at books, and even got to hear an author read a part of her book.
Another must was getting pics with the famous people/animals/things that just happened to be roaming the street that day;o)
On her official birthday, we started out by taking her to fiVe BELoW, a favorite store of ours out here.
She got to spend the money that Grandpa and Grandma Palmer sent to buy whatever she wanted up to that amount. She happily got fiVe awesome gifts from fiVe BELoW,...
which she added to the rest of her loot that she got to open after a great day of school. Her teacher made her this 'Happy Birthday Crown,' and she truly felt like royalty! After she came home and opened presents, we went out to eat, and finally we came back home to enjoy more of her...
'Fruit Fly' themed birthday (I gave Adelaide the nickname of fruit fly, since she loves to eat fruit; she loves the nickname enough that she wanted it to be the theme of her birthday)!
Hence, we came up with the idea of having a 'fruit fly, ice cream pie' for her 'cake.'
She made her wish, blew out her candles,...
and anxiously awaited being able to lick the bottom of the candles! It turned out to be a wonderful day!
Adelaide, my sweet fruit fly, we love you so, so, so much! You are growing up too fast, but I guess that is what you are supposed to do. We think you are wonderful, kind, thoughtful, and helpful. You are a fabulous daughter and the best big sister to your siblings. Thank you for being you!!!

Could she be any cuter? Serious? I adore her. What a great mamma you are. Making sure she felt super special on her birthday. Happy Birthday cute girl! Feel free to move back to Utah Barb, and we will set them up when they are 16. Sound good? I think yes! ;D
