When my family was out, we had to show off Philadelphia.
Dallin made sure that Mitch looked so happy to see the liberty bell, whether he was glad to see it or not.We all went on the tour of Independence Hall, and I have to say that our tour guide rocked! After having been on the tour a few times ourselves, we recognized the humorous genius of this tour guide.
Some day we will have a camera that takes sweet pics like this, but until then we will just steal pics from family members with better equipment and skills ;o)
Smile for independence!!! It truly is such a remarkable blessing.
And, of course, we had to take them to my personal favorite: Reading Terminal Market. It is a crazy, busy, indoor market. One of my favorites is the chocolate shop that has many different molded body parts, like brains, hearts, ears, teeth, etc. My favorite is the molded noses, with the card that says "Oops! I thought you said a dozen noses." Now that is the lame kind of humor that I truly get a kick out of!!!
Funny story: While taking this picture, my sister (who really is very smart) said, "Say 1796!" One of the actors/colonists asked her, staying in character, what happened in 1796. "The signing of the Declaration of Independence," she replied. He kindly retorted with something like "Um, you're twenty years too late." Ha ha! Thanks for having a lapse of memory, April, because it definitely gave us all a good laugh.
Grandma Palmer sporting such a pretty vest, although I kept worrying, and hence bothering her, about her not wearing enough to stay warm. You know that you are truly converted to being a mom when you start worrying about whether or not everyone and their dog is appropriately dressed for the weather of the day.
Not only is this a beautiful shot of Independence Hall, but it also showcases my dad's beautiful beard in the foreground :o)
Since we parked at Wills for the day, everyone got to see where Jared works downtown. The kiddos mainly cared about climbing and posing in front in classic form, with the girls getting more into the posing like always!

Such a cute family! I love that they all came out to see you and to have such fun memories! I have been reading all of your posts. It looks and sounds like a blast!
