Height ~ 20 1/2 in.
Here is the labor run down for any moms that might be interested. I had contractions on multiple nights before I delivered, but I could just sleep them off. Then, I went to my appointment on June 4 in the office, and when they checked me I was dilated to a 3. For some this is no big thing, but for me I was super surprised since I almost always am a 1 even when I go into the hospital with consistent contractions! So, after I got home from my appointment, I wasn't too surprised at starting into labor about 30 minutes later, around 2 p.m.. There was one big problem; Jared was at work and I desperately didn't want to get him out for false labor!!! So, I waited a bit, until my mom convinced me that I had better call, since it would take him a while to get home and take us about 25 minutes to get to the hospital.
So, I packed, I called, I packed some more, he came, and we went. We got there; I got checked; I was still at a 3...argh!!! So, we walked, just like we always do, and Jared got to listen to my anxious ravings about being so nervous that I may have just called him out of work for nothing. He only gets 3 days paternity leave, and I knew we would be hesitant letting him take all of it if I had already gotten him out of a half day for a big, fat nothing. Aaah! Fortunately, when I went back in I was up to a 5. Hence, the two thumbs up. Yay yay hip hooray, I got admitted on that day!!!
The rest was the best, such as getting an epidural:o) and only having to push about 2 1/2 times before getting to hold my little sweetheart.
And she looked even sweeter after getting a good cleaning. How cute is that bow on the hospital hat!?!
The proud Daddy of 4! He is known for this at work, since people think it is crazy that he has four kids. If residents have kids at all, they have 2 max at this stage in the game. What makes us even crazier is that we sincerely can't say we are done yet. We can't say we are not done either, since we simply have no idea at this point. I am almost positive, however, that if we do end up deciding to have more, it will be only one more,...but who knows? Not us!
Emmy's Daddy and Mommy are in love.
She was totally worth being morning sick while still nursing Jed; it was awful at times, but we definitely wouldn't change it.
Little did Emmalyn know, but she would soon be inundated with more love, this time coming from her 3 siblings.
Here are our four kids. Whoa...Do we really have four? I still think it is kind of insane when I think about it!!!
The girls...
and the boy.
I definitely have not been as picture happy as I was with the others. Things have been busy; hence, the late announcement;o)
When enough was enough, and I knew I had to get a post out, Emmy decided that she had had enough as well. I picture her screaming, "No way; I will not let you take a picture unless someone holds me...and I mean NOW!!!"
"Hmm... that is better."
"Yeah...even better!"
"And this is definitely best...besides Daddy making a funny face!"
We definitely think she is beautiful, but we know that we are 100% biased. Not only that, but she is also brilliant! Check her out, signing I love you when she is one week old;o)
I guess she wanted to send her love out to all of you. So, please be reassured that, "EMMY LOVES YOU!!!"
