The Four We Adore

ADELAIDE (Addie)
Here Addie is on her 1st day of 1st grade.  She has loved it so far!  She really likes her teacher and her class.  She is also loving dance, which she is doing for the first time this year.  Unbelievably, she is almost 7 years old!!!  Time seriously flies.
Adelaide is a fabulous reader, a kind friend, and a huge helper (and, boy, do I need her help at times ;o)).  She also loves drawing and creating fun crafts.  Her artwork gets displayed all over the house (see the above picture for proof).
My area of concern is that her artwork can get quite gruesome at times, but she is not to blame!  Jared has corrupted ;o) ;o) my girls by his choice of profession.  There have been multiple times when my girls draw pictures of sick eyes or an "eye infexon"(as Lexi puts it) for their daddy, "because he loves eyeballs" and he loves fixing hurt ones.

 ALEXIA (Lexi)
Since we are not doing an organized preschool with Lexi this year, we decided that it would be time for her to be in some organized sports.  She loves her whimsical, little dance class, and she loves soccer!
Lexi usually has the hardest time looking at the camera and smiling at the same time, but for some reason she was spot on her 1st day of soccer.
It was fun watching her and I think she loved the focus being on her for once.  With Addie always entering the "new phases" and Jed and Emmy requiring so much attention, it is sometimes hard to remember to give Lexi individualized attention.  Jared and I have been working on being more aware of this and have been trying to truly 'see her' and show appreciation to her for the beautiful, loving, spunky girl she is.
Hip Hooray for snacks!  Lexi has been sweet and followed Addie's tradition of sharing them with her sissy.
Unfortunately, Jared has not been able to make it to any of her games yet.  That means that this is the load that I am usually in charge of getting ready, out the door, and to the games every Saturday.  Life as a mom of four is busy, but it is good, and it is a natural workout keeping up with all my pups!!!

JED (Jed Jed)
This is a classic Jed moment.  I picture him saying, "Who? me?  You think I made this mess!"  I picture me saying, "Um, yeah, I caught you redhanded, red-armed, red-faced, red-bibbed, and red-trayed!  The evidence says you are 100% guilty!"  Boys will be boys, eh?  All I have to say is that boys are messy creatures!!!
On the flip side, they are incredibly cute creatures as well!  Jed LOVES our Blendtec that my parents gave to us!  Addie has loved a few of the smoothies we have made, liked some, and didn't like a handful.  Lexi has not liked most of the smoothies we have made, liked a few, and loved an even fewer of them.  Jed  has LOVED them all!!!!!  He gets so excited when he sees us putting stuff into the Blendtec!
He comes right over fully expecting to do the following 3 things:  lick the spoon that has Greek yogurt on it, push the button, and get a delicious, nutritious smoothie!  What we can't figure out, though, is whether he is 'no respecter of smoothies' or 'the ultimate respecter of smoothies.'  Hmm...smoothies for thought!
You would think by Jed's spotlights on this post that all he does is eat, and you would be pretty close to right...ha ha ha!  He loves to eat (one of his specialties is cereal in applesauce; Mmm Mmm good?)!  He also loves to sleep, wander aimlessly, bug his sisters, help me unload dishes, and help me load and unload laundry.  Other than playing with toys for very short periods of time, that about covers it.  Oh, I forgot!  How could I forget that he also loves to play on my Ipod?  One thing is sure, he doesn't forget it!

Emmalyn (Emmy)
This baby girl is such a sweet, little angel!
I love her dimples!  She smiles almost anytime someone talks to her, since she loves that kind of attention.
When she is sleeping, she looks a ton like my baby pictures, and she is a fabulous sleeper.  Thanks, Baby Girl!!!  When she is awake, though, she has some strong Peterson traits.  So, the verdict is still out on who she will most closely resemble!
One of Jared's co-residents gave us this 'Wills Eye Institute' onesie for Em.  I love it, and I love this picture of her Daddy is his scrubs with her wearing it!  This training time has been a beautiful time in so many ways for our family, but we are also looking forward to the next phase and mostly to having Jared home more...9 months and counting!  We are hoping to know by the first of the year where our next phase will be.  We will keep you posted...literally and figuratively;o)
