Summer Trip 2013 @ the Palmers'

On July 4th, we headed down to my parents' home!  They live in Provo under the Y on the mountain, so watching fireworks from their front yard was awesome!!!  We got to see the "Stadium of Fire" firework show and many, many other firework shows all across the valley.  I loved it!!!
The best was spending time with my sweet mama ... how I LOVE her!

I think it was the next day that we had a blast going up into the mountains.
Why?  Well, we obviously needed to have a picnic and to ride my parents 4 wheelers while we were in town.
Check out our happy, little dude!  It was easy to tell that he was so excited and not scared in the least.

And as for our little chick-a-dee, we even took her on a rather slow ride!  She actually enjoyed it and didn't cry at all.  Good goin', my brave baby!!!

"Girls will be girls, and boys will be boys!"  The girls posed and the boy picked up rocks to throw;o)
I love the great outdoors!  Nature is BEAUTIFUL!!!

Now to things that are NOT so beautiful...
Check out this gnarly bruise that Lex got when she took a tumble off her Grandma and Grandpa Pete's deck in one of those red toy cars.  OUCH!
Grandpa Palmer's hair was also not looking its finest when we got there; it was a bit long and untamed.  Luckily, his beauty was restored by these two cute beauticians!  What a good sport!!!

Don't mess with Em; she can throw a wicked punch!!!
Yep!  My mom's cooking is that good;o)

We had things be a little more chill at my parents' home, and it it just what we needed - the chance to really relax!!!  This gave our girls time to get their creative juices going one day.  The result was that they provided us with great entertainment, making a carnival for all to enjoy.  The activities included the following:

Ball Toss and Draw Away,...

Bounce Away (lol) and Drive Away,...

Car Race,...
and Nap!
Nap was the most popular booth at the carnival.
Emmy even decided that I needed a good night kiss.  How SWEET!!!
They did a fabulous job; I love my little party planners!

Another day full of fun was a partial Palmer mini family reunion that we enjoyed.  Some weren't there but they weren't forgotten for sure:o)
Those who were there enjoyed fabulous food and a flippin' awesome adventure seeking for buried treasure!
The pirate's clues lead them all over...in the back, beyond the back,
on the side, up to the front,
and across the black sea (aka. the road)!
Yay for family!
Yay for sweet treasure!
Yay for the booty!

And YAY for mustaches,...LOTS OF MUSTACHES!!!

We had a blast with the Palmers!  It was definitely exactly what the 'doctor ordered' and was 'the calm before the storm.'  For that night, we would go on a whirlwind journey with our sweet Lexi...details to come soon!!!

  1. These pictures made my day. My favorite is the one of your oldest cutting Uncle Mark's hair. Priceless. Thanks for sharing.
