Christmas Play Over Thanksgiving Break

My kids spend too much time in front of a TV.  They really do!  I feel bad about it.  I really do!  Do I do anything about it?  I am sorry to say that many times I really don't!

Over their Thanksgiving break, I got sick of how many hours were spent with electronic devices.  So, one night, I tried to give them a creative alternative/ultimatum.  They were in charge of making up a play and acting it out for us!  Jared and I, in turn, would prepare something to perform for them.
No more electronics, Jed!  STEP AWAY FROM THE iPHONE!!!
Addie really got into it, making sure everyone dressed there part!
She prepared the cutest 'Jedelephant' and  'red nose Emdeer,' making sure that their parts were SUPER easy!!!
The story was about a little girl (Lexi) who really wanted an elephant for Christmas!
Santa (Addie) delivered her one with the help of the cutest reindeer ever.
Then, they shared some good food together, even having a plate of deer food on the ground for Em.
It was pretty much...
ADORABLE!!!

Afterwards, Jared and I performed a choreographed spinoff song that that we came up with, entitled "What Does the Elf Say?"
As encore performances for the night, Addie showed us her choreography for the original "What Does the Fox Say?" and Lexi enchanted us with her made up song about what people think Christmas is about!

Jed debuted his running in circles skills with his tongue sticking out, as he went...
around  and around and around!
In fact, his signature move went viral;o)
The girls couldn't help but join in, which made Jed HAPPY!

The Thanksgiving break became a bit more memorable because we purposely took time away from electronics, creating fun, silly, and REAL memories together!  I am hoping that we will do this more often!
p.s.  Here are some of our homemade Thanksgiving decorations!  Lexi made the jar turkey of her own volition after seeing a picture of something like it online, us three oldest girls made the middle one on our art day, and Addie made bags for all the kids to make turkey puppets on Thanksgiving.

We seriously have so much to be thankful for!!!
